PDF Expert 5 – The Best File Management / Reader / Annotation App for iPhone and iPad
Readdle has done it again! They have released another utility app that takes the genre beyond the limits of their competitors. Of course, we are talking about PDF Expert 5. If you’re familiar with Readdle, you know they make some of the most useful and pleasing apps on the App Store. A couple of our favorites are Documents by Readdle [Review] and Calendars 5 [Review]. Watch the video below for a walk through of the features. Or skip down below the video for our summary.
PDF Expert 5 is more than a PDF viewer app. It will manage multiple file types like video, audio, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point, to name a few. PDF’s are where the app really shines, however.
As good as their free file management app Documents by Readdle is, it only provides simple markup ability like highlighting and notes. PDF Expert 5 takes the reigns and provides a gamut of annotation tools. Some of these are:
- Smart text annotations that detect where other text is on the PDF
- Drawing and shape tools
- Image and Audio embedding
- New Markup tool with the ability to edit a PDF’s original text
Additionally, PDF Expert 5 excels in its user interface. Touch and drag documents to move them between folders or to delete them. Within a PDF you can rearrange pages or flip them on their side if you so like. You will also have the ability to email, print, or open your documents in other apps.
Readdle never ceases to amaze us as a utility-app powerhouse. PDF Expert 5 doesn’t disappoint. If you want to have one location to manage and edit all your documents on your iPad, PDF Expert 5 is the champ.

I purchased this app when you let us know it was free for a limited time, and I’m so happy I did. I especially like the fact that we can sync G-Drive folders offline in the app. Do you know if there’s a similar app for Android?

So happy you like the app!! Unfortunately I don’t know much about Android. But hopefully someone with more experience can provide some insight.
