Notability – Take great notes on iPhone and iPad
Notability was an amazing iPad-only note taking app. Now its available on the iPhone as a universal app, and its been redesigned in a great way! Once you start using it you’ll know why. The beautiful user interface is just the start. Soon you’ll be bullet-pointing and creating sleek outlines. My favorite part is a toss-up between the auto syncing to Dropbox and the audio recording. Notability will record audio while you take notes and can even fast-forward to whatever point in the notes you jump too. Amazing. This video will show you how it all works.
Notability is just one of our favorite notes apps for iPhone and iPad. We’ve collected all of our favorites here. And if you’d like to see more of our top app selections in different categories, just head on over to our Best Apps Series.

Very nicely done. Long time user of Notability and just got it for my Mac. Thought I’d browse around to check out features I didn’t know about. I was impressed by your presentation-you explained with good examples and gave a very complete overview. Glad I found hour site.

Thank you so much for your kind comment! Glad to hear my overview could help! I haven’t checked out the Mac version yet. How do you like it? What scenarios will you use it in?

Often overlooked is the fact that far better quality recordings can be made by not using the internal mic of the ipad. A simple method is to use Griffins iMic and an iPad usb adapter. An FM source such as iPod nano 6 which I use for FM reception at Assemblies is suitable. I use a dock audio output from the nano 6 to 3.5mm jack fed into Griffen IMic. As my hearing is not so good I can still use earbuds (also necessary for the aerial).
Recording off of an inductive loop for the hard of hearing can be done simply by replacing the FM receiver with an eagle telephone coil. The inductive telephone coil will also pick up stray magnetic field from a loud speaker if in close proximity enabling recording from that type of source also.
Lots of audio background auditorium noise is eliminated by using this method. FM reception is my preferred method where available as I personally don’t like the compressed audio of inductive loop amplifiers.

Can I use this with the new interactive regional meeting download?

Notability does not work well with the interactive program. But PDF Expert works great with it! Check it out here: http://appchasers.com/2013/12/04/best-file-management-reader-annotation-app-for-ipad-pdf-expert-5-review/
