On the other end of the spectrum from Castro is Downcast. While not a terrible looking app by any means, its clear that Downcast’s strength is its vast capabilities. If you like to tweak and fiddle with your podcast subscriptions, Downcast is up to the challenge. In fact, this app was our podcast app of choice for years before Pocket Casts and Overcast came along. Downcast is still a good pick and it goes on sale much more frequently than our other selections.
