Video: Explaining iCloud Part 1 – Storage, Backup, and Find My iPhone
It seems like people are always asking me, What is iCloud? So I thought it would be good to take a few minutes and explain all the ins and outs of Apple’s iCloud service and why you want to take advantage of it.
For years, people wished for Apple to release a product similar to Dropbox. You’ve probably heard of Dropbox, which is a service that syncs all your documents across all your devices. So whether it’s on an iPhone, iPad, or your computer, the same documents sync between those devices. That way any changes that take place on one device trickle down to the other.
Well, it took a while for Apple to get all the puzzle pieces in place, but it finally has a service that can do all that and it’s called iCloud. iCloud can be a little bit confusing because there are number of different services within this one iCloud canopy. So this video series takes a look at all these different aspects of Apple’s iCloud service. In this video we give an overview of iCloud and explain the following features:
- How to check and increase your iCloud storage
- See what items are taking up your iCloud storage space
- How to back up your iPhone and iPad using iCloud
- Shrink the size of your iCloud backups
- How to turn on Find My iPhone
