Video: How to Batch Change File Dates on your Mac with File Date Changer
I had a problem. I had scanned a bunch of old family pictures and uploaded them to Picturelife.com. That was all well and good, but the problem soon became apparent. Picturelife sorts photos by year and all my scanned photos were recognized by the date I scanned them, not the date they were taken. So, all my family pictures from the 1970’s and 80’s were grouped in with my 2014 photos. As maddening as this was, it actually made sense. How could Picturelife know when my pictures were taken if their creation date was today’s date? I found that Picturelife does have a way to adjust the date of a photo, but who wants to do that one-by-one? There had to be a way to batch change creation dates. The answer is File Date Changer.
File Date Changer by publicspace.net is a cool Mac app with a straight forward user interface. The video shows how to batch change the creation and modification dates for a group of photos. This did the trick and Picturelife now properly arranged all my photos according to the correct year that I specified. We love File Date Changer and its counterpart Photo Date Changer (for photos with Exif data). If you use Picturelife.com or other online photo services we highly recommend these app for getting everything in order.
