Video: JW Language Part 2 – Collections, Flashcards, and Audio Lessons
The JW Language app is an amazing tool for anyone learning a new language in order to more effectively teach the Bible. You’ve probably read our full review of JW Language but if not, you can check it out here. Recently the app received a significant update with some handy new features. These include the ability to save phrases into Collections (formerly Favorites). Now users can tap the “…” icon to the right of a phrase and instantly choose a Collection to add it too. New Collections can be added on-the-fly using this method too.
Once inside a Collection, you’ll see a couple more new abilities. Flashcards have been revamped to walk you through cards in any order that you specify. That means if you’d like to see one language before another, you can arrange them that way. The answers can be read to you with audio feedback too. This audio feedback speed can be varied between 1/2, 3/4, and 1x speed. Audio Lessons are newly available and let you listen to your collections randomly or in any prescribed order. Phrases can be played continuously within a lesson so that you can sit back and focus on learning. Other smaller but welcome additions to JW Language are the ability to copy phrases into other apps and being able to turn on/off romanization in character-based languages.
The following video will walk you through all the new features of the JW Language app. If you have any questions, please leave them in the comments below.
